The Pinnawala Orphanage For Elephants

Elephants that are injured, disabled, or abandoned and cannot heal themselves in the wild are placed in the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage, which was founded in 1975 with just seven orphaned elephants, is effectively expanding its population in order to aid and safeguard the elephants. In order to preserve and safeguard the endangered Asian elephant species, an orphanage is essential. Numerous elephants in the refuge were saved from perilous circumstances, like being injured by poachers or being left behind by their herds. These endearing animals receive the attention, sustenance, and surroundings they require to heal and flourish from the committed team at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Visitors can get up close and personal with these amazing creatures. Elephants may be fed and even bottle-fed, and you can see them wash and play in the surrounding river. This experience involves travel. It’s a memorable encounter that lets you recognise the beauty and wisdom of these kind giants. Making a difference at your location can be fulfilling when you’re travelling. Using our website to schedule a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage will help to support an important conservation effort for Asian elephants, who are at risk of extinction.
